SFU INDIGENOUS GARDEN

The Indigenous garden grows on the unceded, traditional territories of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), Səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam). The garden is for faculty, students, and staff to take time learning, reflecting, and healing. This designated space for Indigenous cultural activities was created in honour of residential school survivors, intergenerational survivors.

The indigenous garden features a fire pit and a circular seating area for storytelling, dialogue, group instruction, Indigenous events, and ceremonies. It has Indigenous trees, bushes, and plants throughout the garden.
